RECENT HAPPENINGS:

* As of September, 2016, Robert Sacks is the choir accompanist and collaborative keyboardist at Bethany

Lutheran Church in Naperville.  His position includes performing service music on both piano and organ.  Students

of both Mr. Sacks and Ms. Venderley have also contributed their musical talents at Bethany Services.

* In February 2017, students of both Ms. Venderley and Mr. Sacks performed at Bethany Church’s “Evening

of Schubert” program, as part of the church’s Nachtmusik series.  In addition, Mr. Sacks teamed up with Bethany

Church Cantor Michael Giuliani for a performance of the Schubert Fantasia in f minor for piano 4-hands.  Mr.

Sacks also collaborated with students of Ms. Venderley on performances of Schubert chamber works for

violin and piano, as well as viola and piano.

* Congratulations to those students who performed on the June, 2017 solo recitals!  Our next programs are

also solo performances, to be held at Bethany Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

* Mr. Sacks accompanied a variety of instrumentalists at this year’s Granquist Contest, held in Geneva in June.

* Robert Sacks performed on cellist Alexis Johnson’s senior recital in mid-July, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in

Naperville.  The pair performed the Brahms Sonata in e minor, as well as works of Lalo and Vivaldi.  This marked

the final program for the pair, who have worked together for many years, as Alexis is off to college this fall.

* On August 3, Robert Sacks performed on the Classically Alive concert series in Colorado Spring, CO,

presenting the complete Moments Musicaux of Schubert.  He also teamed up with long-time friend and

fellow Peabody Conservatory student Abram Minzer for a performance of the Schubert Fantasia in f minor for

piano 4-hands.  The all-Schubert program was given as a memorial tribute to Walter Hautzig, who died earlier

this year, and who taught both Mr. Sacks and Mr. Minzer at Peabody.

* Mr. Sacks is available to accompany students for competitions, contests, auditions, senior recitals, recording

sessions, etc.  Please visit his accompanying page to find out more.
